INVITE + IGNITE Symposium Schedule


Watershed Founders Lynn Duryea, Chris Gustin and George Mason have invited past Watershed resident artists and other internationally acclaimed artists to participate in a special FOUNDERS studio session around the INVITE + IGNITE Symposium.

Session artists include Barry Bartlett, Scott Chamberlin, Eddie Dominguez, Lynn Duryea, Chris Gustin, Patrick Loughran, George Mason, John Mason, Jim Melchert, Nancy Train Smith, Don Reitz, Annabeth Rosen, Richard & Martha Shaw, Holly Walker and Arnie Zimmerman. Each artist has been an important part of Watershed's deveolopment over the past 25 years - many were a part of the earliest days of Watershed, others have been important contributors to Watershed in more recent years.

The Symposium schedule will include:
Artist presentations and demonstrations Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and
Keynote speaker Rob Forbes (Design Within Reach and PUBLIC bikes)

Plus panel discussions:
Out in the Field: exploring the influence of environment and community on the making of installation art that challenges thought and behavior.
Artists in Culture: looking into the influence of artists on each other, intentional and unintentional collaboration, the influence of world events on the maker, and the imperative and opportunity for artists to impact the community and culture.
Visitors: considering how clay, and clay processes, influence the work of non-clay artists, and the impact of the larger art world on the clay artist.
