Administrative Assistant

Qualifications: Two years post-secondary education and administrative experience in small non-profits preferred. Well-rounded office skills including: excellent typing, proven written and oral communication skills, keeping records, arranging meetings. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage multiple complex tasks and projects. Flexible and responsive to varied tasks and changing priorities, candidate must have the ability to monitor and maintain effective and efficient office procedures, and demonstrated bookkeeping skills - A/P, A/R, reconciliation, audit prep. Macintosh based office requires proficiency in MS Word and Excel; experience with database (esp. Filemaker Pro) and financial software (esp. Quickbooks) is preferred.

Position is year-round full-time working with Executive Director, Residency Manager, and seasonal staff of five.

Summer Staff

Summer staff members at Watershed are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the house, studio, and grounds, in addition to being available to assist, answer questions - in general be a resource - to resident artists and guest artists. We understand the value of your being a member of the community here and provide you with the time to pursue your studio work and interests.

Staffing needs: Two Kitchen Staff & Three Studio Managers

2 Kitchen staff: prepare, cook, serve (buffet style) and clean-up of three meals daily for 25-30 people, responsible for shopping & budgeting, supervision of assistants, special event preparations.

3 Studio Managers: material inventory; equipment, building and grounds maintenance and repair, proficiency with propane & electric kiln firing, communicate with Facilities Director, special event preparations, available to help resident artists, limited supervision of assistants.

Summer staff are expected to work at least 30 hrs/week, this may vary through the summer - some weeks involving more time, others less - and attend weekly staff meetings. Summer staff are afforded three days off every two weeks throughout the summer.

Compensation: $125/week, studio, housing, meals, firings and most materials.
