Firing Workshops
Watershed has two wood kilns, one soda/salt kiln, and a propane
fired gas kiln that provide the foundation for several community
firings each year. The gas kiln is a 35 cu ft down-draft kiln
completed August 2005 by a group of residents for use by artists
in the community. There is year round access. It fires up to cone
10 in oxidation or reduction. There is a firing fee and a firing
workshop before using the kiln. A 54 cuft wood fired Train Kiln
was completed in June 2010, and a 35 cuft wood fired catenary
arch crossdraft kiln will be constructed in June 2011.
These firing opportunities give participants valuable information and experience that they can apply to their work and future firings.
Firing opportunities not listed here are announced by email, so
to find out more about other firings at Watershed, send us your email address to
info@watershedceramics.org - we'll keep you posted!
Costs vary from firing to firing. Space in the kiln(s) and housing
at Watershed is limited for each firing. Click on a link below for more firing workshop information.
