This summer at Watershed, members of the Kansas City Urban Potters will offer a one-day workshop for the public. During the workshop, collective members will each show forming methods and surface techniques they use in their individual practices. Content ranging from design and function, to the decorative and narrative will be discussed throughout the demonstrations. They will share aspects about their individual and collective creative paths and how Kansas City Urban Potters was formed, as well as what it means to work in a close community environment.
The workshop will include demonstrations and discussions rather than hands-on studio time. Participants will have the opportunity to informally talk with Kansas City Urban Potters members and other artists-in-residence at Watershed during the one-day workshop. Lunch will be provided.
Kansas City Urban Potters members leading the workshop include: Chandra DeBuse, Paul Donnelly, Rain Harris, Meredith Host, and Alex Watson.
