Sometimes being an artist residency in Maine, with a community
that spans the nation and that now has an international following,
makes it hard to find a central meeting place for ideas and support.
To accomplish this, the Board of Directors of Watershed is happy
to announce a new membership program with the expressed goal of
keeping the Watershed Family in closer touch. This new and exciting membership, FRIENDS of WATERSHED, will bring you in monthly touch with the detailed goings-on at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. Each year we are hosts to over 80 artists working in ceramics. Our goal is to bring you in closer touch with these and other activities, which you may be otherwise unaware. In the summer our campus is active with artists working in their studios, slide presentations, and lectures. If you are in the area, residing or just visiting, this will be one of the only ways for you to know about and participate in these activities. Also, because Watershed draws its supporters and residents both nationally and internationally, there are numerous Watershed activities held in many locations (maybe near you) that you will want to know about. 
These memberships have been divided into levels of participation, each with very special rewards. Our highest level of participation
is the Beehive Angel, named for the beehive kiln that is a remnant of Watershed’s past as a brick factory and, when the “barn” is
renovated, will become the Hope Barkan Gallery in honor of a generous naming gift from Hope and Mel Barkan. It is an amazing space
and will be a great gallery allowing Watershed to program exhibitions on a regular basis for the first time. So, won’t you become
a Beehive Angel?
