Visiting Watershed
Tours
As part of Watershed’s commitment to advocating for education in the ceramic arts and promoting artists
who work in clay, Watershed encourages visitors and provides opportunities for site tours, evening slide
talks, meeting and talking with artists, and other special events and presentations.
Though Watershed strives to accommodate every visitor with equal attention we request that interested parties
contact the office at Watershed, 207.882.6075, to arrange a visit. In respect to the privacy of the
artists-in-residence, we must insist that visits occur between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Slide Nights
Throughout the summer Watershed presents Slide Nights,
an artists lecture series, on site at Watershed and at area venues. This is a prime opportunity to meet the
artists-in-residence, hear artists discuss their work, and gain a perspective on contemporary trends in the
ceramic arts. Presentations take place in Thompson Hall, Watershed’s dining hall and main residence building,
and at other venues when noted. Please visit Watershed’s website, www.WatershedCeramics.org, to view the
slide night schedule.
As Watershed’s reputation for great meals is as strong as its reputation for great ceramic art,
it’s worth scheduling a visit and tour around lunch! Slide Night presentations are scheduled throughout
the summer, and visitors to Slide Nights are encouraged to join the artists for dinner beforehand.
