Winter Resident Profile -

Jeffrey Lipton - 2009 Juried Winter Resident

Function plays an integral part in my work and its inherently open parameters afford me endless room to explore and create. I seek to make pots that people can use day in and day out with the hope that in use it can quietly change one's experience. Within this framework I skirt the boundaries of simplicity and complexity, often ending with work that in its cohesion is a complete and humble pot. In turn, the piece becomes a culmination of my experiences and the eventual patina of someone else's. My intent is a result of the realization that making pots, simply put, makes sense to me.
