Please select the 2021 Open Studio Session you would like to attend.
For the health and safety of all, participating artists will be housed in single-occupancy rooms. Artists will share a bathroom with up to two additional program participants. No private rooms with private bathrooms are available. Check the box below to agree to these housing terms.
Tuition & Fees
The cost to participate in an Open Studio Session includes $1425 in residency tuition and the $975 housing fee, for a total cost of $2400. These fees cover 24-hour access to a dedicated studio space, use of Watershed's 50+ acre campus, prepared meals, and housing a private room. Additional expenses include material costs and firing fees, which are paid for on a per-use basis at the end of the session.
If you are rolling over your registration from a 2020 session, you can apply your $200 deposit toward the residency charges. If you do not already have a deposit on file with Watershed, a $200 deposit is due with this registration. All but $50 of the deposit is refundable until the start of the session.
If you received a Watershed scholarship award and would like to apply it to the fees for the Open Studio Session, please check the box below. If applicable, your invoice from Watershed will reflect the applied scholarship.

I agree to grant Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts and its authorized representatives permission to record my likeness and images of my work during the time that I am in residence. I further agree that any or all of the recorded material may be used, in any form, as part of publications, videos, brochures, advertisements or other digital or printed materials used to promote Watershed. I acknowledge that since the use of my likeness and my work is voluntary, I will receive no financial compensation.
COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines
Watershed has developed guidelines and protocols to support the health and wellness of everyone on campus. Read the Guidelines here.
As a participating artist, you are responsible for understanding these guidelines. Additionally, you must agree to the following requirements. See the full document for the complete guideline information.
Participating artists are required to take a COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to the start of the residency and supply negative test results upon arrival to Watershed. You may not arrive at Watershed with test results pending. Additional testing may be required during the residency.
Masks that fully cover the wearer’s nose and mouth are required at all times on campus except when: inside a private bedroom with the doors closed; when eating or drinking; and/or when outside and more than 6 feet apart from any other members of the community. Everyone is responsible for providing their own masks. Face masks must meet current CDC recommendations.
Resident artists will be asked to wash/sanitize their hands before and after touching surfaces used by the community and to disinfect high touch surfaces after personal use (e.g., in bathrooms, in the studio, and on the kiln pad). Hand sanitizer, cleaning products, and gloves will be made available.
Watershed expects everyone on campus to maintain a minimum of six feet between one another. This is especially important indoors. If there is a situation outdoors where six feet of distance cannot be maintained, Watershed expects all parties to be masked and to limit the amount of time you spend in close proximity.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Watershed has altered our refund policy. All payments for a 2021 summer residency will be refundable until the day before the start of the session, less a $50 processing fee. In the event that the session needs to be terminated early because of COVID-19, or if you need to leave the session early because you have a confirmed case of COVID-19, you will receive a pro-rated refund for days missed. Once the session begins, there will be no refunds given for any other reason. If a participating artist is routinely and/or knowingly not complying with Watershed's COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines, we reserve the right to terminate their stay. In this situation, the participating artist would not receive a refund.
If you wish, please use the space below to share any information pertaining to your wellbeing that would be helpful for Watershed to know prior to your residency.
