This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to demystify the plaster process and build your confidence in tackling molds for your own creative practice. Learn the fundamentals of working in plaster, from selecting the right materials, to preparing your workspace, to choosing and planning out your first model. Learn to identify undercuts and seam lines, how to use cottle boards, design and create prototypes, release a stuck mold, and more. Participants will leave the workshop with their own one-part plaster mold as well as a broad understanding of the mold-making process (and Meg’s favorite mold-making cheater techniques!)

REGISTERAbout Meg
Meg K. Walsh is the designer-maker behind C&M Ceramics, a small batch ceramic studio, where she creates her signature lines, as well as custom products for business and restaurants. Meg utilizes multiple production techniques in her studio including wheel throwing, jiggering, slip casting and more. Her signature designs are inspired by details found in both the natural and manmade world – the strong horizontal line of turquoise sky meeting the navy ocean, the rhythm of color and pattern in a coiled rope, and the punctuation of pines against a glowing sunset. She is passionate about designing work that has a great attention to detail and an enduring quality. Her carefully crafted pieces are both functional and infused with vibrant, playful elements.
