Support

Watershed covers two-thirds of its expenses through registration fees, grants, and fundraising events, but relies on generous donors to cover the remaining operating costs to sustain the depth and breadth of its programs. Watershed is extremely grateful for those donors who have given funds to provide art-changing and life-changing experiences for talented artists.

Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Ways to Give

The Griggs Circle

The Griggs Circle is named in honor of Watershed founder Margaret M. Griggs, who gifted the land for Watershed’s campus.

Mirroring “Peg’s” generous and visionary spirit, Griggs Circle members provide support that Watershed can depend on year after year. To show Watershed’s appreciation for their generosity, Griggs Circle members receive benefits that vary by giving level and include handmade ceramics, apparel, tickets, discounts, and more!

Artist Scholarships

Watershed currently provides at least 25% of our artists-in-residence with full or partial scholarships every year. We are committed to increasing that percentage and providing scholarships to more artists in order to keep up with demand for financial support, and to ensure that our residencies are filled with artists from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Establish a named scholarship endowment with a gift of $40,000. Endowment funds are invested permanently, and the income generated supports a full scholarship. Donations may be spread over multiple years.

Named scholarship award donors make a 5-year commitment to support an annual full scholarship. Gifts of $2,500 may be made annually or as a lump sum ($12,500).

Planned Gifts

Planned giving offers donors the opportunity to leave their legacy through estate or deferred gifts. Your planned gift has a lasting impact on Watershed’s future financial stability. Planned gifts can be given to a specific program area or labeled as unrestricted.

Planned gifts take various forms, including a bequest in your will, naming Watershed as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account, giving via a charitable remainder trust, giving through a charitable gift annuity (at age 60+), or donating a portion of your IRA (at age 70 ½ +).

Consult your financial planner, advisor, or attorney to set up your legacy gift. Please let us know if you have included Watershed in your financial plans.
